Hands free. Ears free.
Sure, you want music with you at all times. But you don’t always want to slap on headphones and shut out everything else around you. You don’t have to. The SoundWear Companion speaker was designed for you. This wearable speaker offers the best of both worlds—convenience and connection—in a way that allows you to be present with your music as well as your surroundings. It rests comfortably on your shoulders, with sound that is full and clear to you—yet minimises the sound for others. And with legendary waveguide technology at its core, that performance is easy to trust.
WEARABLE TECH—WITH A FAMILIAR TWIST
With some wearables, it's fashion before function. Not in this case. Every part of this speaker is meticulously engineered for better sound. But even a ground-breaking product can benefit from a proven technology—like our waveguide technology. So we used two 28-centimetre waveguides to pump out what other wearable speakers don't—deep, rich sound.
SURROUNDED IN SOUND.
AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
Put them on. Walk around. Take a call or ask Siri a question. This speaker gives you freedom from your devices and keeps you closer to your surroundings at the same time.
A LONG HISTORY OF INNOVATION, CONTINUED …
Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology
Waveguide speaker technology
Direct/Reflecting speaker technology
It's interesting, when you look back on it. Stereo speakers that reproduced more sound from the back of the speaker than the front. Compact, single-speaker stereo systems that replaced stacks of equipment. Noise cancelling headphones that changed just about everything. These are just a few of the breakthroughs we've introduced in our long history of innovation. Until you'd tried one of these, you probably couldn't have known how much of a difference it would make. And that's why we push—to make products that make your life better in ways you can't imagine.
The SoundWear Companion speaker is just the latest example. Try it—then try to imagine a day without it.

Plays up to 12 hours. A quick 15 minute charge gives you up to 2 hours.
VIBRATIONS FOR INCOMING CALLS
Haptic alerts are a discreet way to notify you of incoming calls.
SWEAT AND WEATHER-RESISTANT
Don’t worry about a little rain or a lot of sun. This wearable can take it.
Wireless Bluetooth pairing made easier with voice prompts.
We designed the technology that delivers so much bass to bend with the neckband. And used special materials like a bend-and-stay steel wire encased in medical-grade silicone that has just the right amount of low-spring torsion to stay form-fitted to your shoulders. You'll find it's so comfortable all day long, you may forget you're wearing it.
Swappable. Stretchable. Durable.
The speaker isn’t the only thing we obsessed over. Our custom-designed covers are acoustically transparent, so nothing gets in the way of the sound. Static free so your hair and clothing don’t cling to it. And four-way stretchable so it fits the speaker snugly. Optional colours available are Heather Grey, Midnight Blue and Dark Plum.
Your SoundWear speaker comes with a Black cover.
One app. Complete control.
The Bose Connect app gives you easy access to everything your product has to offer. Get tips, unlock product features and personalise your settings, so you can spend more time enjoying the music instead of setting it up.
You can also easily manage all your Bluetooth® connections. Go from taking a call on your smartphone to listening to music on your tablet to watching a movie on your laptop, with a single swipe. And if you’re listening to podcasts or talk radio, you can turn on Dialogue Mode to enhance the quality of speech.

The SoundWear Companion speaker is made from materials engineered to be comfortable and light. It is also sweat and water resistant and is subjected to rigorous product testing to ensure durability.
How comfortable is the SoundWear Companion speaker?
The neckband was specifically designed for all day wearability. All materials have been selected for their comfort and lightweight properties. The speaker is adjustable to conform to your neck for a comfortable fit.
Can the SoundWear Companion speaker take calls?
Yes. The SoundWear Companion speaker has a microphone for taking calls when connected to a smartphone that supports the Bluetooth® HFP profile. In addition to traditional calls, the speaker will work with many apps that use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), such as Skype or FaceTime.
Can the SoundWear Companion speaker simultaneously be connected to two mobile devices?
Yes. Multi point technology allows the SoundWear Companion speaker to maintain a connection to two devices at the same time—for example, an iPad and a smartphone. So, while you’re watching video on the iPad, the speaker will automatically pause the video to answer a call from your smartphone. When the call is finished, the speaker switches back to the video.
What is the range of the SoundWear Companion speaker’s Bluetooth performance?
The SoundWear Companion speaker connection is capable of stable operation at up to 9 m (30 ft). Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi® or other wireless devices.
How do I charge the SoundWear Companion speaker?
The SoundWear Companion speaker can be charged using the supplied USB cable and plugging it into a USB port on a computer or a wall charger (sold separately). Allow up to 3 hours for the speaker to fully charge.
How long will the battery stay charged?
The battery will provide up to 12 hours of use per charge.
Can you listen to music when the battery is charging?
No, the speaker does not operate while charging.
What are the buttons for on the right side of the speaker?
The larger middle button is the multi function button. It initiates play/pause and other track controls for videos and music, answers and ends calls and provides access to your phone’s default virtual assistant, like Siri. The buttons on either side of the multi function button are volume +/- buttons.
What purpose do the voice prompts on the SoundWear Companion speaker serve?
The voice prompts serve two key purposes. First, they provide guidance during the Bluetooth® pairing and connection process. Second, they identify the connected source devices by text to speech, simplifying usage with more than one source device.
Is it possible to disable voice prompts on the SoundWear Companion speaker?
Yes. Voice prompts can be disabled either in the Bose Connect app or by simultaneously pressing the “+” (volume up) and “-” (volume down) buttons until you feel a vibration. We recommend leaving voice prompts enabled because of the additional functionality that they provide.
What purpose does the vibration notification on the SoundWear Companion speaker serve?
The SoundWear Companion speaker provides vibration notifications to notify you of incoming calls.
Does the SoundWear Companion speaker work with voice recognition apps?
Yes. Pressing and holding the multi function button for 3 seconds will initiate voice recognition on mobile devices that support this feature.
Can the SoundWear Companion be used for gaming?
Yes. However, if used in games where action and audio are supposed to be synchronised, audio/video delay might occur.
