Cannot connect a Bluetooth device

If you cannot pair your Bose speaker or headphones to a Bluetooth device, like a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or TV, here are some things to try.

Earbuds Will Not Connect | Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)

Earbuds Will Not Connect to Source Device

  1. Check Battery Levels

Problem: Earbuds won’t power on or connect.

    • Charge the Earbuds: Make sure your earbuds are fully charged by placing them in their charging case and connecting the case to a power source.
    • Charge the Charging Case: If the charging case itself is low, it won’t charge the earbuds properly. Ensure the case has enough power.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth

Problem: Earbuds are not appearing on your device.

    • Enable Bluetooth: Go to your device’s settings and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
    • Restart Bluetooth: Turn Bluetooth off and then back on to refresh the connection.
  3. Ensure Pairing Mode

Problem: Earbuds are not showing up in the list of available devices.

    • Activate Pairing Mode: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to put your earbuds into pairing mode. This usually involves holding down a button until the LED light starts flashing.
  4. Check Device Compatibility

Problem: Earbuds won’t connect to your device.

    • Verify Compatibility: Ensure your earbuds are compatible with the device you’re trying to connect to. Check the manufacturer’s website for this information.
    • Update Your Device: Ensure your device’s operating system is up to date, as updates can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  5. Forget and Re-Pair

    Problem: Persistent connection issues.

    • Forget Device: On your Bluetooth device, go to the list of paired devices, find your earbuds, and select “Forget” or “Remove.”
    • Re-Pair: Put your earbuds back into pairing mode and reconnect them through your device’s Bluetooth settings.
  6. Reduce Interference

Problem: Connection issues or audio problems.

    • Move Closer: Keep your earbuds close to the Bluetooth device (within about 10 meters or 33 feet
