Download and install Bose SoundTouch app

CineMate systems using the accessory SoundTouch adapter will search for updates automatically upon opening the SoundTouch app. If an update is available, the app will prompt you to update.

Manually updating your SoundTouch system

Before you begin

Updating your CineMate system requires a blank USB drive. This update method assumes you do not have a SoundTouch wireless adapter connected to your system.

If you have a SoundTouch wireless adapter connected to your system, see the instructions below for updating CineMate systems using the SoundTouch wireless adapter.

To update your CineMate system

Turn on your system. The LED on the back of the Acoustimass module should be solid and not flashing.

On the back of the Acoustimass module, insert the USB drive into the port marked "Service".

After a few seconds, the LED should flash green and turn off. If the LED does not change status when the USB drive is inserted, remove and reinsert the drive.

Once the LED turns off, remove the USB drive.

Download the following system updater to your computer and open it:

Updating CineMate systems using the SoundTouch wireless adapter

Manually updating with a USB cable

You will need a USB-A to Micro USB cable to perform these steps.

Updates for your SoundTouch system can be done through the SoundTouch wireless adapter.

Select your system below to download the update file.

At the prompt, click SAVE to save the Update.stu file to your desktop (do not rename the file). If you do not see the prompt, the file may have been downloaded automatically. Look for the Update.stu file in the footer or header of your browser’s window, or in your Downloads folder.

Connect a USB cable from your computer to the Micro USB port (Setup A) on the back of your SoundTouch wireless adapter.

Using your web browser, go to http://203.0.113.1:17008/update.html.

Note: This link will only work if your system is turned on and connected to a USB port on your computer.

On the update screen, select "CHOOSE FILE" (If the button doesn’t work, click the blank field to the right of "CHOOSE FILE").

In the file selection window, find and select the Update.stu file that you downloaded in step two. Once selected, the file name will appear in the field to the right of the "CHOOSE FILE" button.

Click “UPLOAD” and wait while the update is installed:

A progress bar in the browser window will show the update status.

Once installed, your system will reboot

Updating with a USB drive (alternative method)

If a USB-A to Micro USB cable is not available, you can also update with a USB drive. Follow these steps:

At the prompt, click SAVE to save the Update.stu file to your desktop (do not rename the file). If you do not see the prompt, the file may have been downloaded automatically. Look for the Update.stu file in the footer or header of your browser’s window, or in your Downloads folder.

Copy the update file onto a USB drive.

  • Insert a USB drive into a USB port on your computer.
  • Copy or drag and drop the Update.stu file onto the USB drive.
  • Eject the USB drive from the USB port.

Insert the USB drive into the SETUP B connector on the SoundTouch wireless adapter.

Disconnect the system’s power cable.

On the back of the SoundTouch wireless adapter, press and hold the Control button to the left of the Wi-Fi indicator.

While holding the Control button, plug the power cable back into your system.

Wait three seconds and then release the Control button

The white Wi-Fi® indicator on the adapter will show varied blink patterns. This may take up to 10 minutes. The adapter will then reboot and show a solid amber Wi-Fi indicator when completed.

Open the SoundTouch app on your mobile device or computer. Once logged into the app, add the system to your account (if needed).
