What type of remote is included with the Bose Smart Soundbar 300?
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 comes with a basic IR remote control. There must be a line of sight between the remote and the soundbar.
Can I use a third-party universal remote control with the Bose smart soundbars?
Yes. They can all be controlled by third-party remote controls that include the set of Bose IR codes.
How do I connect the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 to my TV?
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 uses a single connection to your TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI™ cable (sold separately).
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have a headphone output?
No. However, using Bose SimpleSync™ technology, you can wirelessly pair the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 with the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 to get synchronised sound at separate volume levels—which means you can lower or mute your soundbar while keeping your headphones loud. This connection is restricted to one soundbar and one pair of headphones at a time.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have Wi-Fi built in?
Yes. The soundbars use the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have Bluetooth® built in?
Yes. Bluetooth technology allows you to stream audio from any source (e.g. from YouTube) directly to the soundbar. And when your friends visit, they can simply connect via Bluetooth and easily stream their content, too.
Can I make calls to or take calls from the Bose Smart Soundbar 300?
Yes. Using Alexa only, you can directly call Bose smart products, Amazon Echo products and anyone in your contacts list. Simply say, “Alexa, call Mum”, to initiate a call. Or say “Alexa, answer”, to accept an incoming call. You do not need your phone to make or take a call, and it’s free of charge. However, when using calling products, both parties are required to have this feature set up in order to use it, and must be on Wi-Fi.
Currently, Amazon Alexa works with QC35 headphones II, Headphones 700, Home Speaker 300, Smart Speaker 500, Portable Smart Speaker, Smart Soundbar 300, Soundbar 500 and Smart Soundbar 700.
Can the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 be used with other Bose smart speakers and soundbars as part of a multi-room system?
Yes. The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 can play in synchronised multi-room groups with additional Bose smart speakers and soundbars.
What accessory components are available for the Bose Smart Soundbar 300?
If you want to add deeper bass to your soundbar, you can add on the optional wireless Bose Bass Module 700 or Bass Module 500. If you want to have a more immersive surround-sound experience, you can add the optional wireless Bose Surround Speakers 700 or Bose Surround Speakers. Add a bass module and surround speakers if you want the full 5.1 experience.
Can I connect two wireless bass modules to my soundbar?
Yes. If you desire even more bass, you can wirelessly connect two bass modules to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300. But you can only connect two of the same bass modules. In other words, you must connect two Bose Bass Module 700 units, or two Bose Bass Module 500 units, to a single soundbar. You cannot connect one Bose Bass Module 700 and one Bose Bass Module 500 to a single soundbar.
How do I wirelessly connect the optional Bose Bass Module and/or Surround Speakers?
The optional accessory speakers and bass modules can be paired via the Bose Music app during the initial product setup. You will be prompted to add your accessory speakers after you download the Bose Music app and start the set-up process. If you did not add a bass module or speakers during the initial set-up process (or if you purchase them later), you can go into the settings menu for your soundbar in the Bose Music app and add them at any time.
Are the Bose Surround Speakers wireless?
Yes. The Bose Surround Speakers connect wirelessly to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300, so no wires would be required from the front of the room to the rear, for example. But the Bose Surround Speakers do require electrical power to power the wireless receiver, and there is a speaker wire connecting the wireless receiver to the speaker itself.
