Heart rate monitor setup - Runkeeper (iOS)

To setup the heart rate sensor in Runkeeper on iOS, follow these steps:

Make sure the SoundSport® Pulse headphones are powered on and connected to your iPhone. To verify, there should be a small vertical battery icon next to the Bluetooth® icon in the status bar at the top of the screen

You can also navigate to the Bluetooth® page in your phone’s settings menu to confirm that Bose® Soundsport® Pulse is under MY DEVICES with the word “connected” next to it.

Insert the SoundSport® Pulse headphones in your ears. The heart rate sensor is located in the left earbud, so make sure the left earbud is securely in place

Open the Runkeeper app

Log in to the app or create an account

Tap the “Me” icon in the bottom left corner of the screen

Tap the “Settings” icon

In the Settings menu, tap "Apps, Services and Devices"

Under "Manage Devices", tap "Devices & Hardware"

Tap “Heart Rate Monitor”. The phone will search for the headphones and connect them. Once the headphones are paired, tap "OK"

Note: The headphones do not need to be in pairing mode for this step. Disregard the on-screen note “Make sure device is in pairing mode."

To view your heart rate, you will need to start a workout. Tap "Back" twice until you arrive at the "Settings" menu, then tap "Me"

On the "Me" screen, tap "Start"

On the Free Run screen, tap "Start Free Run." In order to begin the workout, you must allow Runkeeper access to your “Motion & Fitness Activity” by tapping the “Ok” button

Your workout should start automatically. It may take a few seconds for the heart rate data to appear
