One of the benefits of NAS drives is they are always on and accessible—and so is your music. In the Bose app, there is a sync option in your product settings. This is useful when playing audio from a video source—like a TV sports channel—to a group of Bose speakers. You can use the sync option to decide if the grouped speakers should play in sync to the picture on the TV or if they should play in sync will all other grouped speakers.

Syncing sound with the TV picture is recommended if people can see the TV while listening accompanying audio on grouped speakers. Syncing sound with all grouped speakers is recommended if the TV picture is not as important as having all grouped speakers playing in unison.

Your product listens for a wake word (i.e. "Alexa" for Amazon devices) so you can interact with your system by speaking. You can mute the system's microphone and stop it from listening for and responding to wake words. This is useful, for example, if you're are explaining the voice feature to someone and don't want the system responding during that time.

If you have an Apple iOS device, you can close your My Bose account from the Bose app (this option is not available for Android devices). Closing your account will delete your entire My Bose account. You may also lose some features of your Bose products that require these services or applications.

If a music service in your SoundTouch account is no longer in use, it can be removed from your account (excluding TuneIn). This prevents a service that you no longer use from appearing in your list of music services.

Syncing your library keeps the library content available to you up-to-date. If, for example, you you add or rename tracks, the library will need to sync before you can browse or search the new or modified content in the app.

Some music services do not provide web addresses to streams of stations they own and instead offer those stations only through a music service website or app.)

The HDMI IN Direct Audio setting lets your system receive audio directly from the connected HDMI device. This is useful in setups with a TV that only outputs 2.0 audio over HDMI ARC. Instead of receiving 2.0 audio from the TV, you can receive 5.1 audio directly from the device (i.e. a cable box) before the device connects to your TV and is converted to 2.0.

You can connect headphones to your system for situations when low volume listening is needed. This can be useful, for example, to listen to audio at night without disturbing others in your home with the sound from your speakers.

Apple AirPlay technology lets you wirelessly play audio from an AirPlay device (i.e. an iPhone or compatible app) and hear it through an AirPlay-compatible speaker—like your Bose speaker. For AirPlay to work, be sure both the device and the speaker are connected to the same network.

By default, audio heard from an Alexa-linked system is not muted when you make a voice request to Alexa. If the Bose system volume is too loud for Alexa to understand you, you can have the Bose system mute when you say "Alexa" by following these instructions.

Your product has a Recovery mode, which can help in cases where it becomes unresponsive. This process should only be used to restore operation of a speaker or amplifier that has become inoperable during or immediately following an update. System settings may be lost during this process.

IMPORTANT: This process should not be used if the speaker was just restored to its factory default settings. Restoring the speaker to its factory settings removes any stored Wi-Fi network credentials which are needed for the Recovery mode to complete.

The SimpleSync feature is available for any Bose Music app-compatible speaker or soundbar.. It lets you connect a single pair of Bluetooth® headphones or a single speaker (or soundbar) to play along with your Bose speaker. While many Bluetooth speakers and headphones can connect via SimpleSync, certain Bose products are optimized to play sound in sync with your Bose speaker.
