Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your new Flex Looking for your latest Flex while travelling? Then look no further than the Soundlink Flex 2. This updated go anywhere portable speaker packs a long battery life with a durable & premium material design. In fact, it is so durable that it can be submerged, take a rain shower, float in a waterproof bag in a pool, cope with sand at a beach, and that makes it worry free. A bonus is that when you are ready you can pop it in your backpack, clip it on to your belt buckle or bag (Just add a carabiner to the strap), or just slip it into your pocket! Having owned the previous Flex 1 this has improved Bluetooth connectivity, higher quality audio, and a better app experience. Out of the box it has a balanced sound with great clarity. It may not have stereo separation but considering the size of it, and the volume it can pump out this is only a small niggle. It can also play compressed audio from the likes of YouTube perfectly well. It doesn't have any design changes apart from the addition of the shortcut button and the updated wording on the back of the case. As the saying goes; if it ain't broke. Want a party? Just connect two Flex 2’s together or mix ‘n’ match with the Soundlink Max like I have via the shortcut button on top. Just press the shortcut button on both speakers and Bose does the rest. You just select the music! I really think that if you are new to Bose this is the perfect starting point, and at the same price as the Flex 1 this is an easy purchase. You won’t regret bringing this little portable speaker travel companion into your life and flexing it out in the world!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound Link Flex Portable Speaker (2nd Gen) I received this product about a month ago. After a good amount of use, I can say the product is good quality and is built very well it is sturdy and you can tell it's made of high-quality materials. I have the Sound Link Max which is also a good speaker and has the same aesthetic. But the Sound Link Flex Portable Speaker (2nd Gen) keeps up with the Sound Link Max of course the Max is better in sound but that comes with the size of the products but the sound quality is still outstanding when it comes to the Flex it is a very good everyday use speaker for doing chores, gardening, and chilling. I tend to listen to music every day doing pretty much everything so I use this speaker a lot and think it is a great speaker and suits my needs when using it as much as I do. So I think it's worth it to get one. Pros - Very Portable - Well Made - Nice Design - Sound Quality - Sturdy Carrying Strap Cons - Less Customisable - Doesn't have a charging port cover - Doesn't have an AUX port (If you care about that stuff)

FAQs

What is multipoint connectivity?

Multipoint is a Bluetooth technology that allows your SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) to maintain a connection to two paired source devices at the same time. Your speaker will seamlessly transition between the two devices, so you’re always connected to the active source device.

What are shortcuts?

Shortcuts allow you to configure settings for the programmable shortcut button on SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen). You can manage your shortcut in the Bose app. Out of the box, the factory default shortcut is set to linking, allowing you to use the button to link two compatible Bose speakers without the app.

What options do I have for my programmable shortcuts?

You can change your shortcut button to be connected to your Spotify account to begin music at the press of a button, access your Voice Assistant, or other options that may become available with future firmware updates through the Bose app.

Can I use SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) to connect to a Bose smart soundbar or speaker?

Yes. Using Bose SimpleSync technology, you can connect to your SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) from a SimpleSync-enabled Bose smart soundbar or Bose smart speaker to extend the reach of your listening to other places in the vicinity, such as an adjacent room. You can manage SimpleSync in the Bose app.

Can SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) be used for phone calls?

Yes, when there is an incoming call, pressing the play/pause button will answer the call, and double pressing the play/pause button will decline a call. Double press the play/pause button while in a call to end it.
