Using the headset with your Apple® device

All Bose® headsets designed for Apple® devices include a small inline remote with an integrated microphone. This offers easy access to the Answer/End and Volume control buttons.

Note: Full controls may not be available for some Apple products.

The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano® (4th generation or later), iPod classic® (120GB, 160GB), iPod touch® (2nd generation or later), iPhone® 3GS or later, and iPad®. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle® (3rd generation or later). Audio is supported by all iPod® models and iPad®.

Headset controls

Note: Product appearance may vary slightly.

Basic functions

increase volume:
press and release the + button.

decrease volume:
press and release the – button.

Call-related functions

The following actions require the use of the Answer/End button. Press the centre of the button, and not off axis, to ensure proper functionality of your device.

answer a call:
press and release.

end a call:
press and release.

decline an incoming call:
press, hold for 2 seconds and release.

switch to an incoming or on-hold call and put the current call on hold:
press and release to switch to incoming call. press and release again to switch back to the first call.

switch to an incoming or on-hold call and end the current call:
press, hold for 2 seconds and release.

use voice control:
press and hold the answer/end button. see iphone® user guide for compatibility and usage information about this feature.

Note: The Answer/End button also houses the microphone.

Media playback functions

play or pause a song or video:
press and release.

skip to the next song or chapter:
press and release twice quickly.

fast-forward:
press and release twice quickly and hold the second press.

go to the previous song or chapter:
press and release three times quickly.

rewind:
press and release three times quickly and hold the third press.
