From 1984 to 2010, Patrick was a corporate lawyer with the firm of WilmerHale (formerly Hale and Dorr), where he served as a senior partner beginning in 1992 and as vice chair of the corporate department from 2003 to 2008. His practice concentrated on financing, M&A transactions and corporate governance issues.
